[UPDATE May 20th] It looks like this airdrop may have been a scam. The coins were available in my account as promised on May 20th. However, I was asked to pay 400 TRX (about €40) to “release” the coins. I didn’t pay as I had little hope I’d get the coins after whoever was behind this giveaway reneged on the original deal. There’s now a message on my dashboard saying that my coins are “ready to be sent to you on 22ND JUNE 2021”. No doubt I’ll be asked to pay to “release” them again.
What Is a Coin Airdrop?
If you’re not familiar with the concept of coin airdrops, it’s when coins in a particular cryptocurrency are given away free.
This is usually as a reward for carrying out some simple actions like sharing news about the coin on social media, joining a Telegram group or, in some cases, as a reward during the forking of an existing currency.
These airdrops are essentially free money (if you want to know more about them, where to find them and how to make them work for you, then check out this new crypto course – it’s only $11.99).
A lot of the coins will never amount to much.
But some could end up making you a lot of money.
A Crypto Story That Started In 2014
As an example, 7 years ago,the author of the course I mentioned above recommended that people buy a lot of Doge, up to 1,000,000 coins.
At the time, Doge was worth a tiny fraction of a cent, but he predicted that Doge would sell for a dollar one day.
And that day came this year (2021).
Some people who bought his course ignored what he had to say back in 2014.
Others listened, bought Doge and lost the info needed to access their Doge wallets, in some cases losing out on a lot of money.
In at least one case, the person kept on top of things and was able to sell his Doge for $100,000.
With airdrops, you’re never out of pocket, so you have no money to lose.
The TRON Airdrop
There’s an airdrop of the TRON currency coming up on May 20th.
If you sign up here, 5,000 TRON will be deposited into your wallet (you need to provide your wallet address) on that date.
You can use any wallet you want, provided it supports TRON.
You don’t actually need to do anything to get these free coins.
At the time I wrote this post, a TRON coin was worth about €0.096 or US$0.119.
So, 5,000 free coins will be worth about €488 or US$595.
All of this depends on the coins actually being paid out as promised, but you lose nothing if the coins never appear in your wallet.
